Classroom Design Project: Students will select a picture from the internet of a pre-k through the third-grade classroom that includes activity centers and curriculum resources that meet state learning standards, and furniture and rationale for its placement.
In a two-three page paper, I want you to reflect upon the content that you learned about creating an environment for children. Use the Environmental Assessment found in figure 5.7 to assess the learning centers and room arrangement of your selected early childhood classroom.
Your reflection should discuss:
1. An explanation of the classroom, i.e., age group, educational philosophy (High Scope, Montessori, Early Learning, etc.)?
2. What design elements did you like about this classroom? What didn’t you like? Why?
3. What activity centers were included? What activity centers weren’t pictured? Describe what activities/materials would you include within the activity centers (see the rubric).
4. What Ohio or core standards would be addressed by the activity centers?

There are many aspects to teaching and as a teacher, it is necessary to understand the most important aspects of teaching and how they should be incorporated into the classroom. A teacher’s most important job is not to teach specific material but to build relationships with the students and ensure they feel safe and cared for. Once the teacher can ensure this then they should focus on teaching, however, teaching is more than listing off facts and sharing information with the students. This is my topic below
While reading the chapters for the week my interest in interviews, hiring, firing, and promoting has struck a high interest in my mind. I would like to expand more on this chapter and research what all goes into being a manager and having to deal with employees in these hard and not easy situations. I would like to know what all it takes to do these tasks.
