We have observed how project planning is emphasized in project management with every aspect of the project being planned in significant detail. However, is planning a guarantee of success? By way of contrast, famous German general, Helmuth von Moltke the Elder, from WWI is known to have said, “No battle plan ever survives contact with the enemy.” What, if anything, does this say about project planning for a homebuilding project? Do you feel that there is an element of truth in this quote that relates to project planning? Why, or why not?
