FEMA Preparedness Grants
FEMA preparedness grant awards are described on the FEMA website. You will find information on these awards at either the recent news page (access the resource here (Links to an external site.) ) or at the FEMA Grants page (access the resource here (Links to an external site.) ). You can also find information about grant awards for specific FEMA preparedness grant programs by searching mass media search engines. Using these resources, select one grant program, and identify one state or one community that has received funding under this program. Describe in your post the following:
· Name of the grant program;
· Short description of the purpose of the grant program;
· Name of the jurisdiction that received a grant award;
· Amount of the award;
· Intended or actual use of the funding; and
· URL to information about the grant award.
Your paper must meet the following requirements:
· Your written paper should be 2-3 pages in length not counting the title and reference pages, which you must include.
· Use terms, evidence, and concepts from class readings.
· Cite at least three scholarly sources for this assignment. Scholarly resources include: peer-reviewed journal articles, books, the class textbook, or reports/documents from the government (.gov sites). A scholarly source does not include general sources from the internet (.com, .org, .edu, and .net sites are not scholarly). Scholarly resources should be current (no older than five years). If the class textbook is used as a source, then two other scholarly sources must be used.
