What specific benefits should college graduates ask more questions about when deciding between jobs at different organizations?
AN EXAMPLE…
When one is getting ready to graduate and get out into the work force, when looking at potential jobs it can be easy to simply look at salary numbers and go for whatever job pays the most in base salary. However there are many benefits that can make jobs which on the surface appear to be inferior in pay, actually much better than they might appear. The first benefit that may come to mind is insurance, which is important and definitely should be considered, but is not always a focus for younger people. Another important benefit that people may not thing of is a 401k or some other sort of retirement fund and what percentage of what you put in the employer will match. Other things that should also be considered and asked about are potential bonuses and what they are based on (seasonal or performance based) and company policy on vacation days/paid time off.
