Overall Feedback
Camerder,
While I appreciate this draft, it needs a serious round of revisions still.
1. Start by offering an overall synopsis of the film. Think about “who, where, when, what and how”.
2. Advance your own claim on this movie. Write it in a thesis statement.
3. Highlight the crux of the conflict in the movie, and identify the show producers’/writers’ point of view on issues such as race, inequality, African American representation in Hollywood, etc. Why is it important to have black superheroes? Why is it important to imagine a resource-rich and technologically advanced African civilization? What is the movie’s perspective on racial inequality? How is Killmonger (The only African American character) portrayed? What is the nature of his struggle and what does he belief?
4. To deepen your analysis, I would pick a couple of scenes to describe in detail. Then, comment on the point of the scene, followed by more analysis that connect it to your thesis.
5. Structurally, use topic sentences to start each paragraph, and pair description with comments to make “analysis sandwiches”.
6. And finally, bring in three outside source to help advance your thesis.
